Epoxy and polyurethane protective coatings for structural steel, tank linings, plant floors and secondary containment.
Send the serial number of the unit, and a photograph of its nameplate with it. The serial number is what the part is ordered against; the nameplate settles which version of the machine it belongs to, because the same number can appear on more than one.
Part numbers are welcome where you have them. The quotation states the genuine part, its origin and its lead time.
Steel in a hot, humid, salt-laden coastal environment is lost to corrosion rather than to load. The protection is a film measured in microns, and three factors determine whether it performs.
| Factor | Position |
|---|---|
| Surface preparation | The largest single cause of premature coating failure. A correctly specified product over a poorly prepared surface will fail. |
| Dry film thickness | Specified and measured, not estimated. Under-application is not visible on completion. |
| Overcoat window | Coats applied outside the window do not bond. At 45 °C the window is shorter than the temperate figure on the data sheet. |
Coatings are classified as dangerous goods and move on a DG-certified forwarder. Application follows the specification rather than the prevailing weather. We confirm both before the order is placed, because a coating applied outside its specification performs worse than no coating, and the tin is not what failed.
A scribe is cut through the film and both panels are exposed to salt air at 45 °C. Corrosion advances beneath the coating from the damage. The surface above it remains intact in appearance.
